I AM SCARECROW

Official Band Bio

SCARECROW was founded by writer, producer, and lead vocalist John Blaze. The original lineup featured guitarist Eddie Ojeda of Twisted Sister. From the very beginning, Blaze’s voice—described as gruff and scratchy—became a defining element of the band’s sound, perfectly complementing their hard-hitting musical style and shaping the gritty identity that would become SCARECROW.

Throughout his career, Blaze recorded and toured extensively under the SCARECROW banner, building a loyal and dedicated following. The debut CD, released on Redlight Records and produced by Blaze, featured ten powerful hard rock tracks that quickly captured the attention of both critics and fans. The band followed up with “A Touch of Madness”, released through Pavement Music, further solidifying their signature blend of intensity and melody.

In the 2020s, Blaze expanded the SCARECROW concept into a theatrical experience with the stage production “I AM SCARECROW.” Performing in his signature makeup, he brought a darker, more dramatic dimension to the character, seamlessly blending music with visual storytelling.

Marking two decades of music, Blaze released a “best of” compilation album, “Blood, Sweat and 20 Years,” through The Spectra Music Group. The album supported the theatrical stage show and added 3 previously unreleased new standout tracks and videos; “Welcome To My Mind,” “No Place Like Home,” and “I Am SCARECROW.”

Now, in 2026, Blaze returns with one of the most powerful single releases of his career: “TWISTED.” Inspired by his long-standing friendship and musical history with Dee Snider and the members of Twisted Sister, the track delivers a modern, radio-ready rock anthem. The song features guest vocals from Snider, electrifying violin work by Mark Wood of Trans-Siberian Orchestra, lead guitar by TJ Jordan, and drums by Bobby Marks of Humble Pie.

With decades of music, evolution, and theatrical rock storytelling behind them, SCARECROW continues to push forward.
